The 100 HL bath fan includes it all; quite fan, heater, and light. A powerful and quite 100 cfm fan runs at a quite 2 sones. A 1500w watt heater puts out 5120 btus of heat, and light fixture for a 100w blub. When it comes to keeping a bathroom vented, warm and light the Broan 100hl is a great option.

Quiet powerful fan/light/heater combo Our contractor insisted we find the most powerful extractor fan in our price range for our two bathroom remodels, and this Broan fit the bill. It not only does a great job extracting moisture in a jiffy but the additional features -- fan heater than can be pointed to different parts of the room, light/nightlight -- have made dark chilly bathrooms on winter mornings a thing of the past. Our baths are just 5'x9', but are sunk below grade level; the contractor installed the fans before doing any other work, and ended up using them 24//7 to help dry out the new drywall and tiling. heater the heater does not heat up January 4, 2011

This is the second one I bought This one I bought at a better price than the one at a Building Supply Store. Both were installed at rental homes. The exhaust is the most important feature besides the ability to direct the heat where you need it most. It also looks great. I will buy one for my home in the near future. Mine has no exhaust only fan and the steam is a problem. Service was very professional and delivery was as promised. Thank you. December 30, 2010

dont trust marketing ads The heat/fan/light is fine, but when I was at the local store checking the Broan display (that supposedly was hooked up to real fans) and pushed the button showing how loud 2 somes was, it was a LOT quieter in the store than in real life. December 10, 2010

how do you choose the cfm needed for bathroom?

A good rule of thumb is to divide your total square feet by 7.5. That should provide an estimate of CFM necessary for your bathroom.

will this fit in a 9x14 opening?

The Broan 100HL can be mounted on a sloped ceiling.

What switch do I need to buy with it to run the heat separate from the fan?

I would recommend the Broan 66W three rocker switch, then you can control each function independently.

How many feet can the exhust be ?

As per Broan The unit will operate most quietly and efficiently when located where the shortest possible duct run and minimum number of elbows will be needed. They do not give a maximum duct run length.

Can this be installed directly above shower?

The Broan 100HL can be installed directly above a shower, it is UL listed for wet locations.
