About Cherry Tree Design

Cherry Tree was born in a small wood shop in Boulder, Colorado, when a fine wood craftsman began creating custom shoji screens. Not wanting to waste any of his precious materials, he began designing Japanese-inspired lighting products from the off-cuts of the shoji screens. Thus the puzzle-like look of some of the original designs were created.

Today, Cherry Tree Design uses cherry, walnut, oak, mahogany, and maple (real wood, not stained imitations) which lend the lighting fixtures, screens, and accessories a patina that mellows with age. And while other furnishings may become dated in time, the purchase of a Cherry Tree Design product is an investment in a look that spans generations.
