can the lamp shade come in amber but solid without the pattern on them?

The Maxim MX 11245 is only available with the Screen Amber glass that is shown.

Can this chandelier be dimmed with a dimmer switch?

Yes, the Maxim MX 11245 can be dimmed.

Would I be able to use light bulbs of lower wattage or energy efficient bulbs in this chandelier?

The Maxim MX 11245 uses standard 100 watt light bulbs. You can use bulbs 100w or less. You can also use cfl bulbs with standard bases.

would this light fixture work well in a foyer or entry way with ceilings 9 to 10 feet tall

The Maxim MX 11245 is 32"X32" with 6' of adjustable chain height making it diverse and very usable in that situation.

I need a chain that's longer than 6'. Can links be added to this chain to make it longer, like 7' or so?

Additional chain is sold by the foot under item # CHN08.

Do the soft vanilla cups have the same embossing as the amber cups?

Maxim MX 11245 vanilla cups do not have the embossed look to them
