Ceiling Fan Wall Control
Good Idea but Doesn't Work That Well for Us
This wall control was recommended for the fans we purchased but when we installed everything, we found that the switch only turns the fans on and off but speed could not be adjusted. The correct wall control is available but we didn't realize that until later. Fortunately, with an additional purchase of a very large control chip for each of the two ceiling fans we had purchased, we were able to make the control work without having to return it - but the cost for the chips was an additional $75. Our ceilings are 12' high so pull switches for fan speed adjustment was not practical.

Non functional unit!
We bought the Minkaair fan, wall remote and handheld remote. They DO NOT WORK unless you buy the receiver which is sold separately. Feeling like we didn't read the fine print, we sheepishly ordered a receiver and called our contractor back to install it. There is more than one receiver because we were sent the wrong one. When we called Minkaair their surly customer service gave us the right model number and Build.com took care of the exchange.
Why sell remotes without bundling them to the correct receiver? Will avoid this manufacturer in the future.

not compatible with all fans
I'm sure this is a great product if it works with your fans. My electrician said it wouldn't work my fans....double check before you buy.

Best purchase ever
I love the wall control for my MinkaAire fan. It works the same way as the remote control. I love the fact that if my battery runs out that I still have the wall control to control the fan.
